Joining PRSA Boston
Membership in PRSAs Boston chapter is open to
all individuals who already are members of PRSA National. Chapter dues
are $55 per year in addition to annual PRSA dues listed below. Several
membership levels along with descriptions of their requirements are listed
below.

FULL MEMBER (M): $225 plus $65 initiation
fee.
ASSOCIATE: No initiation fees, annual dues as follows:*
- Less than 1 year experience (AM1): $115
- Less than 2 years experience (AM2): $155
- Graduate Students (AMGS): $60
- PRSSA Graduates (AMPG): $60
*After two years, Associate members will be upgraded
to Full members and will be required to pay the initiation fee.
REINSTATEMENT OF MEMBERSHIP: $260 ($35 Reinstatement Fee and $225 Dues)
Full Members:
To qualify for PRSA membership you must devote at least 50% of your time
to the paid professional practice of public relations or to the teaching
or administration of public relations curriculum in an Accredited college
or university and adhere to the PRSA Member Code of Ethics 2000. If you
are currently unemployed, you must have held a position that meets these
requirements within the last five years or you must hold a degree in Public
Relations or another academic degree program which meets the standards
for a PRSSA charter, hold PRSA certification for Education in Public Relations
or have achieved accreditation in Public Relations.
Associate Members:
You may only remain an Associate Member for a maximum of two years, at
such time you will be upgraded to Full Membership (M) and will be required
to pay the initiation fee. Associates are not eligible to hold certain
elected or appointed positions within PRSA.
PRSSA Graduates: You must be a member
of PRSSA at time of graduation. Application needs to be submitted within
two years of graduation.
Graduate Students: If you are working
full time to earn an advanced degree for the purpose of teaching public
relations you may apply for Graduate Student Associate membership. Proof
of full-time matriculation is required and needs to be submitted with
your application. Graduate Students may remain Associate members for up
to six years.
