PRSA Boston offers local communicators plenty of opportunity to broaden their horizons and hear about the latest trends in the field. Our programming encompasses regular chapter meetings and periodic professional development seminars. Both activities complement the PD programs open to our members through PRSA National.

Monthly Chapter Programs

On a rotating basis to accommodate members' disparate schedules, we hold monthly gatherings either in the evening (from 6-8:30 p.m.) or before work (around 7:30-9 a.m.). At every meeting we schedule time for attendees to meet and network with their colleagues. Recent sessions covered:

• Application of social media tools in normal and crisis situations
• Effects of current demographic trends on conducting PR
• Finding a mentor and the PR job outlook
• Cultural and diversity factors in PR iniatives
• Integrated marketing communications strategies

Professional Development

To help PR practitioners develop new skills and techniques, PRSA Boston offers a series of professional development seminars. Designed to meet the needs of professionals at all levels, they are structured as hands-on learning experiences with direct applications to daily work. The seminars are scheduled in the spring and/or fall and are offered in short blocks of time to make them convenient for working professionals. Past seminars have been offered on such topics as:
